The
15'x15'x15' dwelling study is a conceptual investigation to look at the
possibility of a living unit, not specific to site and context. The cube
takes the basic elements of an urban living environment: Bed, Work, Bath,
Kitchen, Green and Leisure, and then is transformed into a periodic table
of living elements. Each element in divided up equally as a cell in the
table, and the elements are then folded into a cube. The idea is that each
of the elements can be arranged in relations to each other according to
the needs of the inhabitants. The interfaces of each element from the cube
is intended to be able to fold to form the space of the particular element.
The interface of each element can be folded to itself as well as to other
elements to create different combinations of habitation. |
